Taking My Place
Words &Music by Cheryl Davidsen
I am walking with the wind in my face, taking my place and I shall not falter.
With the courage of Nephi, firm in the faith, narrow and straight is the path that I follow.
And I am holding, on to the rod, like never before with the army of God.
CHORUS: Standing armed and ready, fearless and steady,
I am a warrior, mighty and strong, braving the storm, it’s a spiritual battle.
And I am marching, to the front of the line, one heart and one mind with
the noble and great ones.
With the strength of Ammon, Helaman and Alma.
With the spirit of Abinadi, Mormon and Moroni.
These are the heroes. I take my place among them.
These are the valiant. These are the Champions.
I am trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ, my Life and my Light, He is my harbour.
I stand as a witness to carry His name, my course will not change, He is my anchor.
With honour and virtue, I’ll fight to the end, with the sharp sword of truth, His cause I defend.
CHORUS:
We are a marked generation — He will shake the nations — We must stand in holy places.
We must prepare to meet Him — when He comes we will greet Him with His image on our faces.
THIS IS JESUS, SING HIS PRAISES!
Every knee shall bow and tongue confess His Holy Name.
CHORUS:
These are the Heroes, these are the Champions.
These are the Heroes, these are the Champions.
We are the Heroes, We are the Champions.
